The project presents development of new numerical algorithms designed to improve the accuracy of cutting operations of the milling machines. The input of the algorithm is a desired part to be produced on the machine whereas the output is the so-called NC program which controls the movement of the cutting device. This project includes the following two new numerical algorithms and their ramifications.
1) An algorithm for optimal distribution of the cutter location points along the zigzag, spiral or space filling curve tool path.
2) An algorithm for optimal positioning of the workpiece to minimize the kinematics errors and avoid collisions.
