วัตถุประสงค์
:
The overall aim of the project is to conduct a comprehensive population genetic analysis to define the number of genotype and/or species that contained within O.viverrini species complex from five known endemic localities in Thailand and Lao PDR. The specific objectives are:
1. To isolate microsatellite DNA loci in O.viverrini by construction of specific DNA library and establish the microsatellite screening system by PCR.
2. To perform population genetic analysis of individual worms of O.viverrini within a cryptic species in Thailand and in Lao PDR by PCR using isolated microsatellite DNA markers.
3. Based on existing polymorphic allozyme loci in O.viverrini, a set of suitable polymorphic enzymes are used to explore genetic structure of individual worms of O.viverrini in Thailand and Lao PDR.
