Syntheses of gem-Difluoromethylenated Carbocyclic and N-Heterocyclic Compounds Utilizing PhSCF2SiMe3 as a gem-Difluoromethylene Building Block and Further Study of the Reaction of PhSCF2SiMe3 with Electrophiles
We plan to further study the reaction of PhSCF2SiMe3 (1) with other electrophiles (e.g. benzynes, isonitriles, nitrones, nitrile oxides), expecting to find new and general synthetic strategies to various types of organofluorine compounds. Moreover, preparation of gem-difluoromethylenated carbocyclic compounds (e.g. cyclopentane, cyclohexane and bicyclicalkane analogs) and gem-difluoromethylenated N-heterocyclic compounds (e.g. piperidine and pyrrolidine analogs) employing PhSCF2SiMe3 (1) as a gem-difluoromethylene building block will be investigated. Our proposed synthetic studies are as shown in Schemes 1-11.
