1. To search for the gene that is responsible for the combination of features including patent ductus arteriosus, coarctation of aorta, blonde hair, mental retardation, scoliosis, syndactyly, deafness, and severe hypodontia.
2. To study if isolated hypodontia is caused by mutations of this gene.
3. To study if this gene is responsible for isolated PDA in normal population, as PDA is known to be the most common congenital heart defect in Thai people.
4. To gain new knowledge in order to improve the quality of life of the Thai patients.
This BRG research grant will support a Thesis project a master student in Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics at Chiang Mai University
