1. To synthesize a series of metal-organic frameworks containing transition metals or lanthanides, carboxylate based ligands and N-donor organic linkers in single crystal and single phase bulk samples in order to fine tune and search for their functionalities.
2. To determine and analyze the crystal structures and supramolecular assemblies by single crystal X-ray diffraction technique.
3. To investigate the thermal stability of the products that contains porosity or the temperature dependent structural transformation.
4. To investigate structural dynamics with chromotropism of some MOFs.
5. To study adsorption or ion exchange properties of porous MOFs.
6. To study luminescent properties of some MOFs.
7. To study the catalytic activities of some MOFs
8. To study the magnetic behaviors including spin-crossover of some products by SQUID magnetic measurements.
