1. To investigate the ability of B. pseudomallei in inflammasome activation (IL-1?, IL-18 production, pyroptosis and intracellular bacterial survival) in human alveolar lung epithelial cell line A549
2. To investigate the molecular mechanism of inflammasome pathway (canonical and non-canonical) upon stimulation with B. pseudomallei in human alveolar lung epithelial cell line A549. This study will also include the NLRs that could negatively regulate the cells such as NLRC3, NLRC5 and NLRP12
