8.1. To investigate profiles changes of endogenous global metabolites in both plasma and urine of the OVX-induced rats during 12 weeks of the study.
8.2. To characterize potential of those metabolite profiles to specific perturbation caused by ovariectomy including hyperlipidemia and osteopenia.
8.3. To determine the effect of C. comosa treatments on the OVX-modulated global metabolites so as to assess its capacity in preventing hyperlipidemia and osteopenia.
8.4. To determine the effect of estrogen treatment on the OVX-modulated metabolites and compare to those of C. comosa treatment.
8.5. To investigate the relationship of the OVX-modulated global metabolites to specific target biological markers particularly in hyperlipidemia and osteopenia.
In addition, this project is also aimed to establish the guidance for assessing the effect of traditional medicine in the body.
