วัตถุประสงค์
:
The purpose of this research is to fill the knowledge gap of RRM designs and performance analyses for hybrid CDMA-ad hoc-WLAN networks in dynamic wireless environments. The research goal of this proposal is provided below to give the large statement of what this research hopes to accomplish. Then the objectives, which are operational and indicate specific points this research will accomplish, are discussed.
Goal: To increase the transmission throughput of a mobile station (MS) in hybrid CDMA and WLAN networks by proposing an ad hoc network to relay traffic from a transmitting MS (located in the CDMA coverage area but outside the WLAN coverage area) to the AP of WLAN.
Objective 1: To evaluate the throughputs of transmitting data-MSs in hybrid CDMA and WLAN networks that use conventional RRMs of CDMA and WLAN.
Objective 2: To investigate the inter-tech RRM for hybrid CDMA-ad hoc-WLAN networks.
Objective 2.1: To investigate RRM for hybrid CDMA-ad hoc-WLAN networks when there is a dedicated and stationary repeater (forwarding node) in ad hoc networks.
Objective 2.2: To compare the throughputs of data-MSs when employing the proposed RRM studied in Objective 2.1 with the results of the conventional scheme evaluated in Objective 1.
Objective 2.3: To investigate and to evaluate RRM as same as in Objectives 2.1 and 2.2 but the forwarding node can be any mobile stations in the systems.
Objective 3: To analyze the performance tradeoff between throughput and power consumption of the inter-tech RRM in dynamic cellular environments.
