วัตถุประสงค์
:
1) Derive short peptides (15 - 30 amino acids) homologous to conserved regions of the influenza A HA2 protein among all HA subtypes.
2) Test the peptides in 1) for their inhibitory activity against a laboratory strain of human influenza virus (A/WS/33 (H1N1)) in vitro.
3) Determine the possible mechanism of how the peptides inhibit influenza virus infection.
4) Test the inhibitory activity of the peptides against other strains of influenza A viruses and/or to test the inhibitory activity of the peptides against A/WS/33 (H1N1) virus in different cell lines (if necessary)
