วัตถุประสงค์
:
a. To describe and compare the lung volume derived from chest wall kinematics and thoracoabdominal movement patterns, and perceived breathing difficulty in normal control subjects during: 1) arm movements and positions, 2) body positions, 3) breathing patterns, 4) combined arm movements and positions, and 5) breathing patterns, combined body positions and breathing patterns in healthy control subjects.
b. To describe and compare the lung volume derived from chest wall kinematics and thoracoabdominal movement patterns, and dyspnea sensation in patients with mild to moderate COPD during the five strategies (1-5) noted in aim (a).
c. To compare the lung volume derived from chest wall kinematics and thoracoabdominal movement patterns, and dyspnea sensation or perceived breathing difficulty between the patients with mild to moderate COPD and the matched normal control subjects during the five strategies (1-5) similar to aim (a) and (b).
