Production and investigation of structural properties of glasses designed for radiation shielding materials: A comparative studied between glass samples and standard radiation shielding concretes
1. To prepare the glass samples from the high pressure sodium lamp waste glasses.
2. To study the radiation shielding properties of the glass samples by using transmission method and compare the obtained results with theoretical values as calculated by using computer program (WinXCom, MCNP and Geant4) and compare with standard Pb-glass and standard concrete.
3. To study the elastic properties of the glass samples by using ultrasonic technique and compared the results with theoretical values.
4. To investigate the structural properties on the effect of compositions and irradiation.
5. To study the optical properties of the glass samples on the effect of composition and irradiation.
