วัตถุประสงค์
:
1. To synthesize the hybrid materials which exhibit a high amount of metal oxide or zero-valent iron nanoparticles in the suitable polymer ion exchange resins in order to enhance selectivity to remove ligands (arsenate (As)) and heavy metals (lead (Pb)).
2. To study the characterization of the synthesized hybrid materials by using TEM, SEM-EDX, XRD techniques.
3. To quantify the maximum sorption capacity of the materials (sorption isotherm).
4. To investigate the effect of feed pH, competing ions which may affect to the sorption efficiency.
5. To study the sorption kinetic of hybrid nanosorbents.
6. To investigate the performance of the nanosorbent for arsenic (both As(III) and As(V)) and lead (Pb2+) in terms of sorption/desorption in the column runs, removal capacity, and regeneration efficiency using both synthetic test water and real wastewater from affected areas. Commercially available iron-based nanosorbent (LayneRT) and activated alumina (AA) will be used for benchmark
