1) To develop a three-dimensional mechanistic models incorporating surface effects based on Gurtin-Murdoch continuum theory for analysis of nano-sized particles reinforced composite materials.
2) To develop the finite element (FE) solutions for analysis of nano-sized particles reinforced composite materials and implement into an in-house finite element computer code and program.
3) To employ the nano-sized particles reinforced composite model and finite element solutions/computer program obtained from 1) and 2) for investigating the size-dependent responses of nano-sized particle reinforced composite materials.
4) To develop mechanistic models incorporating surface effects based on Gurtin-Murdoch continuum theory for analysis of nanofilm-elastic medium system.
5) To implement the computational nanofilm-elastic medium model obtained from 4) into an in-house computer code and investigate the influence of size-dependent effect, film thicknesses and properties of elastic matrix on the response of nanofilm-elastic medium system.
