วัตถุประสงค์
:
Considering that shortcomings exist in previous studies related to DSS development for AM, especially in healthcare application, and that this research topic is still relatively in infancy for Thailand, our main objectives are the followings.
2.1 To develop a DSS for AM process planning based on multi-criteria decision making and multi-objective optimization tools that systematically integrate three modules: 3D printer selection, part orientation and location, and part-to-printer scheduling. The findings of this research effort are expected to contribute significantly not only to the industrial practice, but also to the research community.
2.2 To conduct an experimental study and analyze critical factors affecting medical models for healthcare applications from 3D printing, which can be further compared against typical mechanical parts produced by AM system as well as parts produced by using traditional manufacturing methods.
2.3 To tighten collaborative research between Thailand and South Korea. While this research is carried out in Thailand, mutual interest between the author research and 3DP lab in Korea (i.e., Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology) that the author has recently collaborated and partnered with can enhance a possibility to secure future international grants and to further enhance international markets.
