1. To explicate Cambodian perceptions of Thailand through an examination of everyday discourse, as embedded in linguistic and social practice. To illuminate diffuse facets of Cambodian attitudes towards Thailand, which will in turn be used to create informative and educational materials aiming to foster Cambodia-Thailand relations in general and improve relevant policies at governmental and non-governmental levels in particular.
2. To crystallize the diffuse discourses underlying ubiquitous linguistic and social practices informing Cambodia-Thai interactions, and thereby make explicit the implicit views that Cambodians hold towards Thailand.
