วัตถุประสงค์
:
(1) To evaluate how civil society groups and local communities engage with the information produced in association with the Asian Highway and its associated infrastructures such as environmental and social impact assessments (IAs), press releases and logistical reports.
(2) To assess the social, environmental, and economic implications of the highway and associated infrastructures and the public controversies these have generated.
(3) To unpack the relationship between practices of transparency and public controversy unfolding within the Mae Sot-Myawaddy SEZ.
(4) To inform policy analysis for the improvement of SEZ governance, with specific suggestions regarding practices of transparency and the further development of infrastructure projects along the Asian Highway.
