The main object is to elucidate the origin on the outstanding properties of natural rubber as well as purification of NR to bring about new characteristics on NR properties. Thus, these involve six different objectives;
1. To elucidate the effect of proteins and fatty acids on both physical and mechanical properties
2. To investigate the effect of non-rubber components and characteristic structure of NR on the strain-induced crystallization and the outstanding green strength of NR
3. To investigate the effect of non-rubber components, including metal on storage hardening in relating to the physical and mechanical properties of NR
4. To study the effect of protein on branching formation, including physical properties of natural rubber
