วัตถุประสงค์
:
1. To determine chemical composition in plant extracts of betel-like scent Piper species namely P. betloides, P. crocatum, P. maculaphyllum, P. rubroglandulosum, P. semiimmersum, P. submultinerve, P. tricolor, and P. yinkiangense compare to P. betle.
2. To evaluate essential oils from the species.
3. To find raw materials for important chemicals, i.e. chavicol, eugenol, myristicin, piperine, and safrole, having equal or higher efficiency than betel.
