1 to characterize the factors that control the ground state (pluripotency) of ICM/epiblast (this will improve the efficacy of ES cell derivation)
2 to establish embryonic and induced pluripotent stem cell lines from domestic and wild cats (for future use as a disease model and trangenesis)
3 to examine the possibility to generate germ specific stem cells from different types of derived stem cells (for a novel approach for genetic conservation of endangered species)
