1. To design and synthesize the new bidentate and tetradentate N-(2-pyridylmethylene)aniline Schiff Base like ligands. Depending on the objectives of each section, the ligands used in the present project can be organized into four groups 2. To synthesize new mononuclear, dinuclear and polynuclear iron(II) SCO complexes from the self-assembly process of the N-(2-pyridylmethylene)aniline Schiff Base like ligands and iron(II) ion.
3 To structural studies of the complexes by single crystal X-ray crystallographic method and further characterization by physical technique. For this reason, structures of complexes are of critical importance in increasing the understanding of properties.
4. To determine the correlation between magnetic/optical properties and structures.
