The overall objective of this proposal project is to develop and evaluate the technical performance and cost effectiveness of Hybrid Membrane Technology such as Hybrid Filtration-Ultrasonic Membrane coupled with Electrochemical oxidation process (H-FUME). The specific technical objectives of this project include:
1. Investigate the occurrence of PFASs in groundwater;
2. Quantify the removal effectiveness of the individual process of the Hybrid Membrane Technology for PFASs;
3. Optimize removal in individual sections of the treatment train under a range of environmentally-related conditions;
4. Assess potential effects of co-contaminants on the rate of PFASs removal by Hybrid Membrane Technology.
