1 To develop chitosan assisted cell aggregates in a modified CSTR (installed with a deflector) in order to promote the retention of methanogens in the reactor and consequently to promote the close association between acetogens and methanogens in grass silage digestion.
2 To develop chitosan assisted cell aggregates in a UASB (that followed a leach bed system) in order to obtain a high OLR in an order of 10 kg sCOD/m3 d in grass silage digestion.
