1. To develop new finite elements for improving solution accuracy in each analysis discipline of fluid flow, heat transfer in the structure, and the structural deformation with thermal stress.
2. To derive new finite element equations for each analysis discipline and to develop corresponding finite element computer programs.
3. To improve the analysis solution accuracy by implementing new adaptive finite element meshing techniques. The techniques can also improve the analysis efficiency by reducing the computer memory requirement as well as the computational time.
4. To explore the significance of the coupling effect and the interaction among the three analysis disciplines.
