2.1 To develop new finite element algorithms for improving solution accuracy in each analysis discipline of high and low speed fluid flows, heat transfer in the structure, and the structural deformation with cracks.
2.2 To derive new finite element equations from the governing differential equations for each analysis discipline, and to develop the corresponding finite element computer programs.
2.3 To improve the analysis solution accuracy by implementing new adaptive finite element meshing techniques. The techniques can also improve the analysis efficiency by reducing the computer memory requirement as well as the computational time.
2.4 To demonstrate the significance of the coupling effect and the interaction among the three analysis disciplines using the finite element method.
2.5 To create a strong research team with expertise in advanced computational technology for our country.
