1. To conduct basic research on self-assembled semiconductor nanostructures by molecular beam epitaxy.
2. To develop novel MBE growth techniques for different nanostructures such as quantum dots, quantum dot molecules, quantum rings, quantum dot rings, quantum dot pairs, quantum dot chains by using different semiconductor materials such as InAs, InGaAs, InP on GaAs.
3. To characterize the surface morphology, electrical and optical properties of different semiconductor nanostructures
4. To explore the potential applications of semiconductor nanostructures for nanoelectronics & nanophotonics such as quantum dot solar cells, quantum dot lasers, quantum computing.
5. To develop human resources in nano-engineering for future industries.
