1) To utilize multi-parameter flow cytometry and other related technologies to define the multifunctional characteristics of immune cells that constitute the basis of difference in cellular response during disease progression, or during antiretroviral therapy (ART) in humans and in non-human primates with acute and chronic HIV or SIV infection.
2) To implement some of the research studies on the functional diversity of immune cells from the literatures and from our past experiences in SIV-infected non-human primates into human HIV.
