1). To prepare mosquito repellent formulations of Ligusticum sinense hexane extract (LHE). 2).To investigate under laboratory conditions the repellent activity of the formulated preparations against Ae. aegypti. The best repellent formulations will be candidates for developing effective repellent products by a novel technology. 3).To evaluate under laboratory conditions the repellent activity of products developed against various mosquito vectors such as Ae. aegypti and/or Anopheles minimus, etc. 4). To determine under laboratory conditions the physical and biological stability of plant-based repellents. 5). To investigate under field conditions the repellent activity of plant-based repellents against a natural population of mosquitoes. 6). To determine under laboratory and field conditions the potential skin irritant and satisfaction of human volunteers when applying plant-based repellents.
