This research project aims to investigate the following topics:
(1) Influence of the obstacle shape and orientation on the dynamics of a spiral wave in a thin layer of the Belousov-Zhabotinsky (BZ) reaction and in computer simulations.
(2) Electrical-induced elimination of a spiral wave pinned to obstacles with different shapes and orientations in a thin layer of the BZ reaction and in computer simulations.
(3) Influence of the obstacle shape and orientation on the dynamics of a scroll wave in a three-dimensional (3D) BZ medium and in computer simulations.
(4) Electrical-induced elongation and elimination of scroll wave filaments partially pinned to obstacles with different shapes and orientations in a 3D BZ medium and in computer simulations.
