The objective of this research is to apply the near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) technique to detect fungal contamination particularly aflatoxigenic fungi and AFB1 contamination in brown rice samples. This is to develop the more accurate and more robust model by including full wavelength range (700-1100nm short wavelength and 1100-2500 nm for long wavelength) by including more samples with different origins including different rice mills, supermarkets, local markets and convenience stores, and by considering moisture content of the samples.
