Comparison beneficial effects between iron chelator, TTCC blocker and LTCC blocker on cardiac iron accumulation, cardiac functions and cardiac mitochondrial function in wild type and thalassemic mice under iron overload condition
Aim #1 To investigate the effect of pharmacological interventions on biochemical parameter including plasma NTBI, cardiac and liver iron, oxidative stress in normal and thalassemic mice under iron overload condition.
Aim #2 To investigate the effect of pharmacological interventions on heart rate variability (HRV) in normal and thalassemic mice under iron overload condition.
Aim #3 To investigate the effect of pharmacological interventions on cardiac functions (pressure-volume loops) in normal and thalassemic mice under iron overload condition.
Aim #4 To investigate the effect of pharmacological interventions on cardiac mitochondrial functions of normal and thalassemic mice under iron overload condition.
