วัตถุประสงค์
:
To examine and report on the elephant-specific SNP haplotypes within the mitochondrial genes, being able to discriminate elephants from other mammalian species and distinguish the three particular living elephant species.
To develop and validate the first full functional direct PCR method combined with a single multiplex SNaPshot assay called direct-multiplex SNaPshot assay for simultaneous identification of elephant genus and the three elephant populations from ivory sample for forensic purpose.
