วัตถุประสงค์
:
In this work, the functionalised graphene sheet containing well-uniform surface aryl derivatives will be used to support Ag-core Pd-shell nanoparticles to improve the catalytic performance of catalysts. The surface anchoring groups of chosen electron donating and electron withdrawing behaviors will be selected as stabilizing ligands to promote electron transfer to Ag-Pd nanoparticles. The electronic effect of surface functional moieties on Ag-core Pd-shell NPs catalysts will be observed towards the catalytic performance in anodic electrooxidation of formic acid. In addition, the functional moieties on graphene sheets and the thickness of Ag-seed and Pd-shell will be elucidated and studied to suggest the electronic effect of catalyst design. The alternative heterogeneous catalyst of thicker Ag-core layer with thinner Pd-shell decorated on as-prepared functionalized graphene sheet will also be studied for economical use and can be operated without the effect of CO poisoning
