วัตถุประสงค์
:
2.1 Establishing if retained-EDSBs are evolutionary conserved and investigating the connection between retained-EDSBs and control of gene expression or cell differentiation and carcinogenesis by studying characteristics of RIND-EDSBs in human normal and cancer cell.
2.2 Identifying genes involved in repairing retained-EDSBs and ID-EDSBs by studying characteristics of RIND-EDSBs in yeast strains depleted of DNA repair genes.
2.3 Affirming the role of retained-EDSBs in preventing unwanted DNA breakage and reducing DNA strain by studying characteristics of RIND-EDSBs in yeast strains depleted of NHP6A, and topoisomerases and endonucleases.
2.4 Establishing if AGO binding sequence locations are associated with retained-EDSBs location.
2.5 Verifying that RIND-EDSBs are distinct from replication-dependent EDSBs by studying characteristics of EDSBs in S-phase of wild type yeast.
