Characterization common epitopes of Duffy binding protein II associated with inhibition of erythrocyte binding among Plasmodium vivax variant haplotypes: Approach to DBPII vaccine design
The proposal seeks to understand the broadly inhibition of anti-DBP immunity that develops after infection to the isolates of P. vivax present in Thailand.
1. To evaluate broadly function of anti-DBPII neutralizing antibody in protection against PvDBPII-Thai strain binding to human erythrocyte.
2. To evaluate the association of Thai DBPII polymorphism with antigenic character, inhibitory function of antibody against a panel Thai haplotypes.
3. To define target epitope of anti-DBPII neutralizing antibodies in protection against PvDBPII-Thai strain binding to human erythrocyte.
