Utilization of palm residues for conversion to biofuels and value added cellulose products via bio- and chemo-catalytic platforms toward integrated zero waste process
This project aims to develop alternative processes for conversion of the underused solid by-products from oil palm processing to biofuels and chemicals as a step toward establishment of feasible palm oil mill-based integrated biorefineries. The researches will be separated into two routes: (i) sugar platform process (with bioethanol as the model product) and (ii) direct utilization of cellulosic materials to value-added bio-products (with MCC/NCC as the model products).
